Why the XYZ mount is so critical
No wall is flat. The larger the surface, the worse it gets.
A MicroLED canvas is a precision instrument hung on construction that is not. The Lunar XYZ Adjustable Mount is the three-axis system that absorbs those bumps, out-of-plumb structure, and the way a house actually moves — then lets a crew finish the picture in X, Y, and Z. On Lunar Full Install it is required once a wall is more than four cabinets wide or four cabinets tall.
No wall is flat
Studs, plaster, masonry, and pocket returns all wander. The larger the area you cover, the more those irregularities stack. XYZ absorbs the bumps so the canvas can still sit in one plane instead of tracing every high and low in the substrate.
Plumb is not a given
If the mounting surface is not plumb, a rigid hang follows the lean. XYZ compensates vertically so the video wall can stand true even when the physical wall behind it does not.
Houses move. The picture should not.
Homes expand and contract with season and load. The mount decouples the video wall from that movement. Screws into plywood and a direct cabinet mount do the opposite — they pull on every cabinet as the structure shifts. That is why those methods are a bad idea on a MicroLED wall.
Room to run power and data
XYZ leaves space to pull cable behind the array. Power and data placement is less critical, and less precise, because you are not fighting a flush hang with nowhere for the runs to go.
Depth you can actually set
In a pocket or on a flat wall, Z-axis travel lets the visual plane meet a pocket face or line up with surface-mounted speakers. In and out is an adjustment — not a rebuild — so the picture sits where the architecture intended.
Micro-adjust when the holes are not perfect
Drill bits drift. Holes miss. X and Y adjusters recover alignment instead of forcing a cabinet onto a bad hole. That is especially useful in masonry, where a missed fastener is expensive and a second hole is not always an option.
Seismic-capable, with PE drawings
Not every mount can be seismically rated. Ours can — and we support it with PE drawings when the project requires them.

Both are legitimate Lunar hardware. They are not interchangeable once the canvas grows.

If Lunar is installing a wall more than four cabinets wide or four cabinets tall, the XYZ mount is part of the system. That is how we keep the canvas flat, the seams closed, and the picture you sold actually on the wall. Bundle it with Full Install and the job is discounted $500 as a permanent promo.
